Colocasia esculenta – black magic
An unusually attractive foliage plant, 'Black Magic' is a tuberous, stemless perennial with huge, heart shaped purplish-black leaves on large leaf stalks that can grow nearly a metre in length. Eye catching cross between gruberi and tiger tim. A striking and unusual medium sized brom with numerous whitish, light and dark green patterned leaves and vivid yellow inflorescence. The vivid yellow flower spike is flat, narrow and sword shaped, and bears numerous lemon yellow flowers high above the richly speckled foliage; these last several months. Prefers indirect light.

Aechmea spectabilis
Great for drought tolerant, shade or container gardens. A large and impressive aechmea, with a rosette that can reach more than 1m in width. Partial shade or patio situation is ideal for this aechmea. It has glossy green leaves that turn tinge red in strong light. These elongated thin red leaves form a fountain shape over time. The multiple branched flower stem reaches more than 1m in height and is comprised of many pink berry like flowers tipped with red petals. Attracts hummingbirds.
Aechmea blanchetiana – Orange
This large, sun tolerant ornamental bromeliad can grow to 1.2 metres high. The foliage can range from green, to orange to red depending on the clone, and will develop its best vibrant colours in sufficient sunlight. The large flower spike can reach 1.5m bearing long lasting masses of red and yellow flowers and purple berries. The orange and yellow varieties prefer full sun while the green variety prefers partial sun.
