This is another beautiful giant alcantarea which can span over 1.0 meters when fully mature. When it matures the leaves gets covered with a silvery white powder which makes this beauty stands out in the landscaping. The inflorescence is tall and branched and has fragrant flowers that attracts bees, butterflies and/or birds. It can be grown outside in tropical areas. It will take many light conditions.
This one’s a large, multicoloured stunner, with a 50 cm tall flower spike bearing numerous purple to red bracts with yellow petals. The large, deep green-blue leaves are faintly banded, with thin white stripes. The purple on their tips extends to a purple shading underneath, making this one of the more beautiful members of the group.

This is cross between original fosteriana rubra and red chestnut which is equally beautiful.
N. scarlet charlotte has bright green leaves with the most gorgeous scarlet centre at maturity whereas N. medusa is spineless beauty with lovely formed rosette and intense colouring at flowering . A cross between these beauties and you have a lovely plant that deserves a place in any collection. Best in dappled light, with some morning sun to maximise the leaf colouring at flowering.
